Job summary

VIPeople in Reefton on the West Coast seeks an experienced Electrician to join our hands-on team across residential, commercial, rural and industrial projects. You’ll install, maintain and fault-find, keeping customers informed and jobs moving to close-out.

You’ll work on-site in Reefton with a supportive local team, have a company vehicle, fuel card, laptop and phone, and enjoy a lifestyle known for outdoor pursuits.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand EWRB practising licence.
• Solid electrical experience across residential, commercial, rural and industrial work.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Electrical installations, repairs and maintenance across local projects.
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting for residential, commercial, rural and industrial work.
• Communicate with customers and provide practical solutions.
• Complete job documentation, quotes and variations.
• Update job information and help close out completed work.
• Utilise phone, laptop or job management system for basic administration.

About the role

You'll be working as part of a capable electrical team, completing a range of installation, maintenance and fault-finding work across the Reefton area and surrounding communities.

You won't be expected to sit behind a desk all day, but you will need to be comfortable with the admin that supports a well-run electrical business.

What we're looking for

• Current New Zealand EWRB practising licence
• Solid electrical experience and strong technical ability
• Confidence with fault-finding
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable using basic technology for job records, quotes and administration
• A full New Zealand Driver Licence
• A reliable, practical approach and pride in delivering quality work
