Job summary

LME Power is an Auckland-based company providing civil, electrical, and line mechanic services within the electricity distribution industry.

We are seeking a qualified and reliable Electrician to join our team, primarily working on streetlight pole replacement projects across Auckland. The role involves electrical work on streetlight installations, connections, disconnections, and testing, with flexibility for day and night shifts as workload dictates.

Qualifications

  • A recognised electrical qualification or EWRB certificate.
  • Current electrical competency certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Has the right to work in New Zealand.
  • Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver\'s licence and reliable transport.
  • Has a Class 2 driver\'s license is an advantage.
  • Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out safe removal and installation of streetlight poles in accordance with network and council standards.
  • Disconnect, isolate, and reconnect streetlight electrical circuits following approved switching and procedures.
  • Install, terminate, and test streetlight cabling, luminaires, and associated electrical components.
  • Work safely around live electrical networks under appropriate authorisations and supervision.
  • Drive the crane truck, including safely positioning and setting up.
  • Support the use of other plant and equipment, including EWP (Elevated Work Platform), trucks, and lifting gear.
  • Complying with all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Completing required documentation and reporting.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as required.

LME Power is looking for a qualified and reliable Electrician to join our team, primarily working on streetlight pole replacement projects across Auckland. The role will involve electrical work associated with streetlight installations, connections, disconnections, and testing.

The role is not limited to streetlight work. Depending on LME Power’s workload and project requirements, you may also be required to assist with other electrical, civil, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be expected to work safely and independently while also being a reliable team member. Flexibility with day and night work is required, as some projects may involve night shifts, shutdowns, or work outside normal hours.

What you'll be doing
