Job summary

Ventia is seeking Commercial/Industrial Electricians for a construction project in Kaiapoi, New Zealand. The role involves electrical works, testing and livening, reporting to Construction Supervisors on site.

Shifts are 8 hours, Monday to Friday with potential for OT and weekend work. Pay ranges from $40 to $45 per hour, plus OT, with the possibility of permanent work after the project.

Qualifications

• Active EWRB Practising License (NZ).
• Proven experience as HV Electrician in industrial or commercial settings.
• Full NZ Class 1 Licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Support HV cable pulling, switchgear installation, control cabling, and cable terminations.
• Assist with cabinet installation, wiring, and electrical infrastructure works.
• Carry out switchyard and equipment earthing tasks.
• Contribute to HV activities (where qualified) and provide general site electrical support.

About the role

Ventia's looking for Commercial/Industrial Electricians to assist on a construction job, performing Electrical works across to testing and livening. Reporting into Ventia Construction Supervisors, this construction work is based in Kaiapoi and is expected to go for 4 months with the possibility of permanent work after.

What you'll be doing

We're looking for Electricians who have

• Active EWRB (Electrical Workers Registration Board) Practicing License.
• Proven experience in NZ as a qualified HV Electrician in industrial OR commercial.
• Full NZ class 1 License and own transport to get to site and back each day.
• Good communication, are a team worker with a positive attitude towards safety.

Beneficial but not mandatory experience-

• Hazardous areas experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules and cable cards
• EWP or Working at heights ticket
