Job summary

Stellar Recruitment Pty is seeking multiple Electrical Trade Assistants for a major renewable energy project in Taupo, Waikato, starting November 2026. These roles offer steady hours through to April 2027, with exposure to large-scale infrastructure and experienced Electricians.

Ideal candidates will have electrical background, a strong safety mindset, and a willingness to learn. NZ work rights and the ability to pass Drug/Alcohol tests are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Electrical Trade Assistant or related experience preferred.
• Limited Electrical Licence highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong interest in building a career in the electrical industry.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Valid NZ working rights (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Resident visa).
• Able to pass Drug & Alcohol test and MOJ check.
• Cable pulling, cable trays or assembly experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical construction activities including cable pulling and cable containment installation.
• Assist with equipment assembly and terminations; provide testing support.
• Handle materials and assist with general site operations.

Taupo, Waikato | $27 - $31 per hour | Fixed-Term Contract / Contracting Opportunities

About the Role

We're recruiting multiple Electrical Trade Assistants to support a major renewable energy project commencing in November 2026.

This is an outstanding opportunity for people looking to build a long-term career in the electrical industry. Whether you're an experienced Electrical Trade Assistant, currently working towards registration, hold a Limited Electrical Licence, or simply have a strong electrical background and a willingness to learn, you'll gain exposure to a large-scale infrastructure project while working alongside experienced Electricians and Supervisors.

You'll be involved in a range of electrical construction activities including cable pulling, cable containment installation, equipment assembly, terminations support, testing assistance, materials handling, and general site operations.

With work secured through to April 2027, this project offers stable employment, consistent hours, and the opportunity to develop highly transferable skills within one of New Zealand's fastest-growing industries.

About You

• Previous Electrical Trade Assistant, construction, or infrastructure experience preferred
• Limited Electrical Licence highly regarded but not essential
• Strong interest in developing a career within the electrical industry
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment
• Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence preferred
• Valid working rights in NZ (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Resident visa)
• Able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
• Able to pass a MOJ check
• Experience with cable pulling, cablte trays or aseembly will be highly regarded
