Placements24 seeks a seasoned Electrical Systems Manager in Queenstown to lead the electrical engineering department. You will oversee design, implementation, maintenance, and compliance of critical electrical infrastructure and drive strategic planning and budgeting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Pr. Eng. registration desirable.

  • Manage the electrical maintenance program, including preventative and corrective strategies for reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards across operations.
  • Develop and manage the department budget including capex and Opex.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Electrical Systems Manager to lead their electrical engineering department in Queenstown . This senior role involves overseeing all aspects of electrical system design, implementation, maintenance, and compliance for the organization's operations. You will be responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, budget management, and ensuring that all electrical infrastructure meets industry standards and operational requirements. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with extensive experience in managing complex electrical systems and large teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the upkeep, upgrade, and expansion of electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the design and execution of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage the electrical maintenance program, including preventative and corrective maintenance strategies, to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards across all operations.
  • Develop and manage the electrical engineering department budget, including capital expenditure and operational costs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale electrical projects and diverse teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of power systems, control systems, and electrical safety regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
