Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to grid infrastructure projects in Queenstown. You will design, plan, and implement electrical networks, substations, and related infrastructure to ensure reliable power delivery.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to vital grid infrastructure projects in Queenstown . This role focuses on the design, planning, and implementation of electrical networks, substations, and associated infrastructure essential for reliable power delivery. You will engage in technical analysis, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with grid codes and standards. The ideal candidate is adept at managing complex electrical engineering challenges and committed to enhancing the robustness and efficiency of the electrical grid, working within an organization dedicated to infrastructure development and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
  • Conduct power system studies , including load forecasting, fault analysis, and protection scheme design.
  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical grid equipment.
  • Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant national and international electrical standards and grid codes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in electrical design software and power system analysis tools (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP).
  • Strong understanding of substation design , protection relays, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is required.
