Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Distribution Supervisor to lead field crews delivering electrical distribution and infrastructure projects across Canterbury. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing safe, efficient delivery of maintenance, construction, fault response, and project work while guiding a team of Linespeople, Cable Jointers, Technicians and Electrical Fitters.

You will lead multiple sites, ensure work is completed to high safety and quality standards, coordinate daily

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews in electricity distribution or utilities.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and compliance standards.
• Experience coordinating field teams and contractors.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• NZ Electrical Registration preferred.
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise distribution field crews across multiple work sites.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Coordinate daily operations, resources, contractors, and equipment.
• Support the delivery of maintenance, capital works, and network projects.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members.
• Champion a strong health, safety, quality, and environmental culture.
