Job summary

Ventia in Canterbury is seeking an experienced Distribution Supervisor to lead field crews delivering electrical distribution and infrastructure projects across Canterbury.

This hands-on leadership role oversees the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, construction, fault response and project work while supporting a high-performing team of Linespeople, Cable Jointers, Technicians and Electrical Fitters.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electricity distribution, utilities, or power infrastructure.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Sound knowledge of industry safety requirements and compliance standards.
• Experience coordinating field-based teams and contractors.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Current NZ Electrical Registration or industry qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise distribution field crews across multiple work sites.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Coordinate daily operations, resources, contractors, and equipment.
• Support the delivery of maintenance, capital works, and network projects.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Champion a strong health, safety, quality and environmental culture.
