Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly organized Sports Event Coordinator to plan and deliver a range of sporting events in Queenstown, from local tournaments to regional competitions. You will oversee scheduling, venues, budgets, and safety.

The role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, and proficiency with event software; flexibility for evenings and weekends, and a passion for promoting community sport.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, or related field.
• Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a sports context.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of sports events, including scheduling, venue selection, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and participants to ensure seamless event operations.
• Develop and manage event budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
• Oversee event logistics, including setup, breakdown, signage, and participant registration.
• Create and implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive event attendance and engagement.
• Ensure all events comply with safety regulations and legal requirements, including obtaining necessary permits.
