Qube Ports NZ in Gisborne seeks an experienced Duty Operations Manager to lead the Gisborne port's stevedoring and marshalling activities. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver strong operational and customer outcomes.

You will manage staff on site, coordinate resources, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners including port companies, customers, and vessel agents to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' operational leadership experience.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Computer literacy and moderate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Practical thinker with multi-operational coordination experience.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Duty Operations Manager to manage the Gisborne Stevedoring and Log Marshalling operation on the Gisborne port. Reporting to the Port Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring safety and compliance standards are met, and delivering strong operational and customer outcomes. You will manage staff within the Port, coordinate resources, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners including port companies, customers, and vessel agents.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations across Gisborne
• Ensure compliance with Qube's safety, environmental, and operational standards
• Coordinate labour resources and monitor operational performance
• Liaise with customers, port companies, vessel agents, and other stakeholders
