Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking a Shift Manager to lead a team on shift at Taranaki Port. The role focuses on loading/unloading ships, ensuring safety, and managing cargo flow using our cargo management systems.

You will drive a skilled team handling logs, timber, bulk products, and more, while coordinating with port authorities and logistics partners. The role is full-time and salaried, with rotating morning/evening shifts to meet shipping schedules.

Qualifications

• Natural leader with prior people management experience
• Willing to undergo pre-employment medical and drug test
• Citizenship or right to work in New Zealand required
• Pass ACC & MOJ Criminal History Check

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of the Shift Manager is to manage and drive the loading and unloading of ships arriving at the port. This is a demanding but rewarding leadership role and pivotal to our organisation. It will involve leading a dedicated team of skilled individuals in the handling of everything from logs, timber, bulk products and more. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of your team and for managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems.

Location:Taranaki Port

Status:This is a full-time salaried role. Rosters are driven by shipping schedules, and flexibility is required, including rotating between morning and evening shifts to meet business demands.
