Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a proactive Labourer to join the Trenching & Shoring division. You will help keep the depot safe and organised, preparing equipment for hire and supporting the team to deliver excellent service across construction sectors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Driving license required and a CSCS card and/or forklift licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Clean equipment and store it in an orderly fashion.
• Quality-check equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire ready.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites, with relevant checks and administration completed accurately.

You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire ready

• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately
