Job summary

NZ Recruit is seeking a reliable Landscaper to join our outdoor contracting team in Canterbury. You will carry out landscaping, lawn installation and site preparation, operating basic machinery and completing a range of grounds works.

This hands-on role requires physical fitness, practical hands-on skills and the ability to work independently or with a crew in all weather. A class 2 NZ driver license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, contracting or construction is preferred.
• Trade qualification or progress toward one is advantageous.
• Full NZ Driver Licence is preferred.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Landscaper to join the team and assist with landscaping, lawn installation and general outdoor contracting work.
This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in preparing sites, operating machinery, installing ready lawn artificial turf and completing a range of landscaping duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out landscaping and lawn installation work
• Prepare soil and sites ready for lawn and turf installation
• Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, including:
  • Front-end loaders
  • Excavators
  • Tractors
  • Forklifts
  • Rotary hoes
  • Ride-on mowers and other landscaping equipment
• Digging, shovelling and moving soil and materials
• Planting, mulching and preparing garden areas
• Assist with paving, edging and retaining work
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Complete general landscaping and outdoor labouring duties
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area
• Follow all Health & Safety requirements and maintain a high level of machinery awareness
• Represent the company professionally and provide excellent customer service

• Experience operating machinery is advantageous
• Good communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to organise and complete a variety of tasks efficiently
• Physically capable of lifting and undertaking manual contracting work
