Job summary

Gibbston Valley Wines in Gibbston, Otago, invites a friendly Driver and Bike Centre Assistant for the seasonal role from October to May. You will shuttle guests, advise on bikes, handle bookings, and ensure a safe, enjoyable cycling experience.

You must have a full NZ driver licence with P endorsement, be available on weekends, and pass drug testing. This role offers a scenic workplace and staff discounts on wine, spa, and dining.

Qualifications

• Full NZ driver licence with Passenger (P) endorsement.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand without restrictions.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Drive our 11-seater shuttle between Gibbston Valley and Queenstown.
• Create a friendly, informative travel experience for guests.
• Handle bookings, phone enquiries, and emails.
• Coordinate guest pick-ups and drop-offs locally.
• Escort customers to ensure they are prepared and confident for riding.
• Provide expert advice on bike selection, safety, and local trails.
• Deliver safety briefings and basic bicycle instruction.
• Assist with maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the bike fleet.
• Contribute to a friendly, social, team-oriented environment.

Our Bike Rental Centre gives visitors the opportunity to explore this stunning region on two wheels, and we are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable person to help bring that experience to life.

About the role:

• Seasonal full-time - October to May
• Location: Gibbston Valley Wines - Gibbston, Otago
• $28.00 to $32.00 depending on the experience

We are looking for a Driver and Bike Centre Assistant to join our team. If you are customer-focused, enjoy sharing your local knowledge, and love helping visitors make the most of their experience at Gibbston Valley and our bike hire facility, we would love to hear from you. As a Bike Centre Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have an unforgettable biking experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving our 11-seater shuttle between Gibbston Valley and Queenstown

• Greeting and assisting customers to ensure they feel prepared and confident for their biking adventure

• Assisting with the maintenance of the bike fleet, including daily cleaning and general upkeep
• Working in a friendly, social, and team-oriented environment

About you:

• Enjoys engaging with people and delivering outstanding customer service
• Reliable, well-organised, and confident working independently
• Delivering safety briefings and basic bicycle instruction.
• Has mechanical knowledge and an interest in cycling
• Is available to work weekends and public holidays
• Full NZ driver licence with Passenger (P) endorsement
• Willing to undergo pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing
• Eligibility of work in New Zealand without any restrictions.
• A reliable method transport since we're located about 25 mins from Queenstown CBD
