Job summary

ATT is seeking a Drainlaying Apprentice in Canterbury, New Zealand. You will gain practical experience by working with qualified tradespeople to install, test, repair, and maintain drainage systems.

Learn to read site plans, set out drainage works, prepare trenches, lay and align pipes, and connect fittings while ensuring compliance with safety standards. As you progress, your pay increases and you will be supported by ATT managers.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality
• Previous labouring, farming, plumbing or holiday job experience
• Ability to use tools
• Hold a valid NZ driver’s licence with reliable transport
• Clean criminal record
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests
• NZ permanent resident or citizen

About the Role:

As a Drainlaying Apprentice, you will gain practical experience working alongside qualified tradespeople to install, test, repair, and maintain drainage systems. You will learn how to read site plans, set out drainage works, prepare trenches, lay and align pipes, connect fittings, and make sure all work meets relevant building, safety, and compliance standards.

About you:

• Be reliable - on time every time
• Have some job experience - whether that's labouring experience, farming, plumbing, or holiday jobs
• Be good with your hands - you know how to use tools
• Have your driver's licence (Restricted or Full) with reliable transport to get to work
• Have a clean criminal record
• Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests
• Be a NZ permanent resident or citizen
