Job summary

Corde in Rolleston, Canterbury, seeks an experienced Drainlayer to join our busy forward programme. The role focuses on installing concrete and PVC pipelines, constructing manholes and drainage structures, and reading drawings to ensure accurate grades and levels.

You will operate 3–20 tonne excavators, work safely around live services, and uphold health and safety commitments. An NZ residency or valid work visa is required.

Qualifications

  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the drainage industry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physically fit, reliable, and self-motivated
  • A positive attitude and strong commitment to health and safety
  • CCC Authorised and NZ PGDB Registered viewed favourably; training support for registration when not yet registered
  • Experience with dewatering systems regarded highly

Responsibilities

Job description

We have a busy forward work programme and are looking for an experienced Drainlayer to join our team in Rolleston.

If you’re passionate about civil drainage and take pride in delivering quality work, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing concrete and PVC pipelines, construct manholes, sumps, and other drainage structures, and working safely in excavations and trench shields. You will be confident operating 3–20 tonne excavators and have a strong understanding of drainage systems, grades, levels, and quality standards.

You will also be able to read and interpret construction drawings and service plans, work safely around live underground services, and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety.

If you’re an experienced all-rounder with a solid background in civil drainage, this is a great opportunity to join an industry leader.
