Job summary

Sound Care Group – Waikato District, North Island, is seeking a passionate Diversional Therapist / Activities Coordinator to design engaging programmes and deliver person-centred activities that support residents’ wellbeing and connection.

You will work with the care team to promote independence, dignity and cultural safety, while creating meaningful daily experiences for older people in our Tamahere facility. Excellent collaboration with families and community is valued.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Diversional Therapy) Level 4 or equivalent.
• At least 2 years' relevant experience, preferably in aged care or residential care.
• Experience leading and coordinating activities for older people.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships with residents, families/whānau and staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate individual and group activity programmes.
• Develop and maintain individualised activity care plans with residents and families.
• Review care plans at least six-monthly or when needs change.
• Collaborate with RNs, care staff and whānau to deliver activities.
• Support outings and community activities for residents.
• Maintain accurate activity documentation and records.
