Job summary

Oceania, one of New Zealand's leading retirement living and aged care providers, seeks a full-time Diversional Therapist for Heretaunga Village in Upper Hutt. You will lead our activities team and work closely with residents, families and the care team to create engaging programmes.

Ideal applicants have a National Certificate in Diversional Therapy or equivalent, strong people and computer skills, and the flexibility to work weekends. NZ driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • National Certificate in Diversional Therapy or equivalent health of elders qualification.
  • Strong people skills with ability to motivate others to participate in activities.
  • Good computer and system management skills.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures for audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the activities team.
  • Work with the care team, residents and families to create varied activities programmes.
  • Motivate residents to participate while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Build rapport with residents, staff and visitors.
