Job summary

Public Defence Service - New Zealand is seeking an experienced Criminal District Court Scheduler to coordinate daily operations and support the smooth running of our criminal courts. The role is based in Rotorua with periodic travel to Tokoroa DC and Taupo DC.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in district court scheduling, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive problem-solving mindset to adapt to changing court needs.

• Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities to handle a diverse range of responsibilities with resilience to cope with unexpected situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, and highly developed emotional intelligence with an ability to collaborate effectively.
• Experience utilising and maintaining internal systems to its fullest potential, ensuring accurate data input, smooth workflow, and comprehensive reporting.
• Resourcefulness, practicality, and a systems-oriented mindset to optimise operational processes.
• Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.

Are you an experienced District Court Scheduler or Case Manager who is familiar with criminal court schedules and fixtures and has exceptional attention to detail.

If so, we are looking for a talented individual to join our Waiariki team as a Criminal District Court Scheduler. This is an exciting opportunity as you will play a pivotal role, co-ordinating daily operations and contributing to the smooth running of our criminal courts.

The role is based at the Rotorua District Court but the successful applicant will be required to travel to Tokoroa DC and Taupo DC periodically.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,066 and $85,567 based on skills and experience.
