OMD New Zealand is seeking a Digital Director in Auckland to lead our digital ambition and shape client outcomes. You’ll combine strategy, technology and leadership to elevate our digital offering and drive measurable business results.

You’ll build and coach a high-performing team, mentor talent across the agency, and partner with senior clients to unlock opportunities in data, measurement and activation. A collaborative, innovative leader who thrives on challenging the status quo will fit well.

Formación

• 7–10+ years in digital media/marketing with strong leadership; agency experience required.
• Experience building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders (CMO level).
• Solid understanding of digital ecosystem: paid search, SEO, programmatic, social, mobile, content, CRM, email marketing.

The opportunity

As Digital Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping OMD Auckland’s digital offering, strengthening client partnerships, and driving best-in-class digital strategy and execution. Working closely with our senior leadership team, you’ll bring together strategic thinking, technical expertise and commercial nous to help our clients navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape.

This is a role for someone who can think big, roll up their sleeves, and bring people along for the ride. You’ll have the opportunity to challenge the status quo, introduce new technologies and ways of working, and help build a digital team that continues to raise the bar.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead with impact: Shape and deliver innovative digital strategies that solve business challenges and drive measurable results for our priority clients.
• Build brilliant client partnerships: Become a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, strengthening relationships and helping clients unlock new opportunities through digital.
• Inspire and develop people: Coach, mentor and upskill digital specialists and colleagues across the wider agency, building confidence, capability and a culture of continuous learning.
• Champion innovation: Keep your finger on the pulse of emerging platforms, technologies and industry trends, turning fresh thinking into practical opportunities for our clients.
• Drive commercial growth: Identify opportunities to grow our data, digital, measurement and analytics offering, develop new solutions and contribute to the continued success of the business.
• Make things work smarter: Improve processes, workflows, reporting and governance to ensure our teams deliver consistently high-quality work, efficiently and collaboratively.
• Bring teams together: Partner with Client Service, Strategy, Investment, Activation, specialist SBUs and our wider OMG network to deliver connected, effective solutions.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a confident digital leader who combines deep technical knowledge with strong commercial instincts and a genuine passion for people.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• 7 – 10+ years’ experience in digital media, digital marketing or a related field, with a strong track record of leadership. Agency experience is a must.
• Experience building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including CMO-level contacts.
• A solid understanding of the digital ecosystem, spanning paid search, SEO, programmatic, social, mobile, content, CRM and email marketing.
• Strong knowledge of marketing technology, including CRM, CDPs, identity solutions, ad platforms and data-driven marketing.
• Experience with digital measurement, attribution, analytics and translating data into actionable business recommendations.
• The ability to confidently present, influence and build relationships with people at all levels.
• A commercial mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities, think strategically and turn ideas into growth.
• A genuine interest in developing people, sharing knowledge and helping teams do their best work.
• A curious, proactive approach and the confidence to challenge existing ways of thinking.

Most importantly, you’re someone who brings people together, leads by example and is just as comfortable talking big-picture strategy as you are getting into the detail when it matters.
