Qualifications

• Heavy Diesel Mechanical Qualification or equivalent
• A clean NZ driver’s licence (minimum NZ Class 2)
• 5+ years’ experience as an automotive technician with proven leadership ability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Hands-on, practical approach with strong problem-solving ability
• Highly organised with ability to motivate and lead a team

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of technicians and apprentices, monitoring workloads and progress.
• Train, mentor, and challenge the team to continuously improve their skills.
• Carry out quality control checks during and after repairs, ensuring work exceeds customer expectations.
• Support the Service Manager with workshop profitability, rework investigations, and approvals for additional costs.
• Keep equipment maintained, workshop materials stocked and ensure open communication across the team.
