Rubbish Direct is looking for a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Mechanic to help maintain and repair our fleet of Isuzu rubbish trucks.
This isn’t just a role where you change parts and move on. We want someone who takes pride in diagnosing problems properly, preventing breakdowns and keeping our fleet safe, reliable and ready to work.
Our promise to customers is simple: rubbish collection they do not have to chase.
Our drivers make that promise real on the road. Our workshop helps keep that promise moving.
It’s a hands-on role in a busy waste collection operation where our trucks work hard every day. When a truck is off the road, it impacts the driver, the run, the customer and the wider team.
That’s why good maintenance matters. We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of prevention, safety, attention to detail and doing the job properly.
When the business does well, our people share in that success.
Pay: $42 - $48 per hour, depending on experience. Higher rate negotiable for the right person with strong heavy diesel, hydraulics, auto electrical and fleet maintenance experience.
Experience with waste trucks, compactors, bin lifters, hydraulic equipment or fleet maintenance would be an advantage.
However, we are more interested in someone with the right attitude, strong mechanical ability and a willingness to learn the specific equipment we operate.
Rubbish Direct is a locally owned waste collection company. We started in 1999 and have built our name by doing the job properly.
Our customers rely on us, and our trucks need to be safe, reliable and ready to work.
Rubbish Direct operates 365 days a year, and the role of our workshop team is essential in making sure the fleet, plant and equipment are properly maintained, well looked after and safe to operate.
This role suits someone who wants steady work, takes pride in their trade, looks after gear properly and wants to be part of a company that backs its people. If this sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
