Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora's LabPlus Diagnostic Genetics laboratory in Auckland seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to support nucleic acid extraction, specimen processing, and range of molecular testing workflows.

Collaborate with Medical Laboratory Scientists, Clinical Scientists, Pathologists and other health professionals to deliver accurate, timely results while upholding ISO 15189 standards and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
• Experience in a medical laboratory environment is preferred.
• Experience with molecular techniques or nucleic acid extraction is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and nucleic acid extraction.
• Operate laboratory workflows and data handling.
• Support specialized diagnostic genetics testing services.
• Maintain quality management activities and ISO 15189 standards.
• Collaborate with scientists, pathologists and healthcare professionals.
