Job summary

Ngāi Tahu Property is seeking a Development Manager to lead property development initiatives from inception through delivery. You will manage multiple budgets and projects while building strong relationships with stakeholders to translate opportunities into successful developments.

We are seeking a talented Development Manager to join our Property team.

Established in 1994, Ngāi Tahu Property is one of the largest property developers in Te Waipounamu with a range of successful residential and commercial developments.. As a wholly-owned Business Unit of Ngāi Tahu Holdings, Ngāi Tahu Property contributes to our overall mission to protect and grow the Ngāi Tahu tribal pūtea and Settlement assets for future generations – mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei (for us and our children after us).

The Role

Reporting to the National Development Manager you will be responsible for the initiation, management and completion of property development projects aligned with Ngāi Tahu Property’s medium and long term strategies. In this role you will require strong relationship building and influencing skills with an ability to source growth opportunities that will translate into developments.

We are looking for a talented and driven individual with:

  • Highly developed relationship building and influencing skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills in a team environment
  • Financial literacy and the ability to manage multiple budgets and projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with the Treaty of Waitangi and its application to the work of Te Rūnanga Group
  • Affinity for and understanding of Ngāi Tahu values and the ability to role model them
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Property, Valuation, Engineering, Project Management or a related degree is preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in property development management
