Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Student Association at Massey University

Make student life happen.

Clubs. Events. Community. Belonging.

At Te Tira Ahu Pae, we're here to make the student experience at Massey better - and we're looking for a Development Lead - Clubs & Events to help make that happen.

This is a people-focused leadership role where you'll lead a team, support student clubs, create great events, build partnerships and turn good ideas into things that actually happen.

What you'll do

You'll lead our Clubs & Events Team and help create opportunities for tauira to connect, participate and thrive.

You'll:

  • Lead, coach and develop the Clubs & Events Team.
  • Support clubs and student leaders to grow and succeed.
  • Develop and deliver events across Massey's campuses and for distance tauira.
  • Build strong relationships with Massey, community, iwi, Māori and Pasifika organisations, businesses, sponsors and other partners.
  • Develop partnerships, funding and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Support volunteering, grants and student led initiatives.
  • Improve the systems and processes that help clubs and teams succeed.
  • Manage budgets, reporting, KPIs and competing priorities.

About you

You're a people person and a doer.

You know how to bring people together, build trust and turn ideas into action. You're confident leading a team, comfortable solving problems and able to see both the big picture and the detail.

You'll ideally bring experience in some combination of:

  • People, programme or project leadership.
  • Events, student engagement or community development.
  • Partnerships, sponsorship or stakeholder management.
  • Working with volunteers, community organisations or student-led groups.
  • Budget and project management.

You understand Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori and you're committed to creating inclusive spaces where all tauira can participate and belong.

A relevant qualification is helpful, but we're more interested in what you bring than what's written on your CV.

Te Tira Ahu Pae is the Students' Association at Massey University.

We're advocates, organisers, community builders and problem solvers. We work alongside tauira to create opportunities, amplify their voice and make student life better.

Our mahi is grounded in:

  • Manaakitanga - uplifting the mana of others
  • Kaitiakitanga - caring for our people and resources

We take our mahi seriously. Ourselves? Not always.

Because you'll have a real opportunity to shape student life at Massey.

You'll lead a team, work with students, build meaningful partnerships, create memorable experiences and help make things better.

If you're someone who brings energy, empathy, initiative and good judgement - we'd love to hear from you.
