Job summary

PlaceMakers New Lynn is hiring a Despatch Team Member to join our busy despatch, yard and drive-thru areas. You will prepare loads, coordinate deliveries and ensure orders are strapped and ready for transport, while supporting customers on site to create a positive experience.

The role requires previous despatch or logistics experience, strong attention to detail and excellent communication. A NZ Class 1 license and forklift experience with F endorsement are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a despatch or logistics role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physically fit with ability to perform heavy lifting.
• NZ Class 1 driver’s licence (full) is essential.
• Forklift experience with F endorsement is a must.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare products for delivery and collection.
• Check orders for accuracy and secure loads for transport.
• Coordinate trucks and plan delivery schedules.
• Verify orders against documentation and correct errors.
• Monitor inventory levels; perform cycle counts and stock replenishment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized yard with general housekeeping.
• Operate a forklift.

Description

As a Despatch Team Member, you'll be the trusted expert our building trade customers rely on to get their orders delivered accurately and on time. Working in our busy despatch, yard, and drive-thru areas, you'll take ownership of preparing loads, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring everything is strapped, wrapped, and ready for transport. You'll also provide hands-on support and assistance for our customers on site, creating an experience that keeps them coming back.

• Picking and preparing products for delivery and collection
• Checking orders for accuracy and securing loads for transport
• Coordinating trucks and planning delivery logistics
• Verifying orders against documentation and correcting any errors
• Monitor inventory levels, complete cycle counts and stock replenishment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard through general housekeeping
• Operate a Forklift

Permanent full-time role based at PlaceMakers New Lynn offering 40 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday.

About You

• Previous experience in a similar despatch or logistics role
• Bring a strong work ethic, approachable nature and committed to delivering deliver great service to everyone you meet
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling
• Full NZ Class 1 drivers' licence is essential
• Forklift experience with F endorsement is a Must
• Great attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident using technology and navigating multiple systems
• Knowledge of building products & materials or the construction industry is preferred
