Job summary

PlaceMakers New Lynn is seeking a reliable Despatch Team Member to prepare loads, coordinate deliveries and keep our yard safe and organized. You’ll work in the despatch, yard and drive-thru areas, ensuring loads are strapped, checked and ready for transport while providing hands‑on support for customers on site.

The role requires a NZ Class 1 licence, forklift experience with F endorsement, physical fitness and a customer‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a despatch or logistics role.
• Able to lift heavy items and perform manual handling.
• NZ Class 1 Driver Licence essential; Forklift experience with F endorsement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Picking and preparing products for delivery and collection
• Checking orders for accuracy and securing loads for transport
• Coordinating trucks and planning delivery logistics
• Verifying orders against documentation and correcting errors
• Monitor inventory levels, complete cycle counts and stock replenishment

Job description

As a Despatch Team Member, you’ll be the trusted expert our building trade customers rely on to get their orders delivered accurately and on time. Working in our busy despatch, yard, and drive-thru areas, you’ll take ownership of preparing loads, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring everything is strapped, wrapped, and ready for transport. You’ll also provide hands‑on support and assistance for our customers on site, creating an experience that keeps them coming back.

• Picking and preparing products for delivery and collection
• Checking orders for accuracy and securing loads for transport
• Coordinating trucks and planning delivery logistics
• Verifying orders against documentation and correcting any errors
• Monitor inventory levels, complete cycle counts and stock replenishment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard through general housekeeping
• Operate a Forklift

Permanent full-time role based at PlaceMakers New Lynn offering 40 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll be someone who’s friendly, dependable, and physically fit. You’ll be ready to jump in whenever needed and always put customers at the heart of everything you do whether you’re preparing and coordinating deliveries or lending a hand in the yard.

• Previous experience in a similar despatch or logistics role
• Bring a strong work ethic, approachable nature and committed to delivering deliver great service to everyone you meet
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling
• Full NZ Class 1 drivers’ licence is essential
• Forklift experience with F endorsement is a Must
• Great attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident using technology and navigating multiple systems
• Knowledge of building products & materials or the construction industry is preferred
