Job summary

Port Otago Group in Dunedin is seeking a Depot Operator to join on a permanent full-time basis at the South Dunedin site. You will start on the wash pad and progress through container repairs, side loader operation and surveying, with training provided and pay increases as you are signed off in each area.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime. The role requires a full NZ Class 1 driver’s license and the ability to pass safety and medical tests.

Responsibilities

• Wash pad: clean containers to MPI and customer standards and complete audit sheets.
• Container repairs: perform repairs and upgrades including welding and fabrication.
• Side loader operation: move empty containers between road/rail and yard storage.
• Surveying: survey containers and identify those needing repairs.
