Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an Asphalt Paving Manager to lead paving delivery across Central Otago, NZ. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on planning, safely delivering projects on time and within budget while coordinating crews, plant, and subcontractors.

You will lead teams in paving, milling and hand-lay operations, driving safety, quality and commercial performance across projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification or significant industry experience.
• Proven leadership of paving/civil construction teams.
• Strong commercial and operational awareness.

We’re looking for an Asphalt Paving Manager to lead the delivery of our asphalt programme across Central Otago. Paving is a key part of our business, and with a strong pipeline of work ahead this is an opportunity to make your mark and continue to shape and grow the department.

Backed by strong regional support and supported by national expertise, you’ll lead established teams across paving, milling and hand-lay operations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll take ownership to lead planning and delivery of asphalt paving works safely, on time, within budget, and to the standard our customers expect. You could be working across one major project or a mix of smaller jobs, coordinating site crews, plant, subcontractors, and day‑to‑day delivery.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• BE, NZCE, diploma‑level engineering qualification, or significant relevant industry experience.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in paving, civil construction, or a similar operational environment.
• Experience leading teams, developing people, and getting the best out of others through clear, practical leadership.
• Strong commercial and operational nous, with the ability to manage risk, plan ahead, and deliver to programme and budget.
• A current Class 1 driver licence, relevant safety knowledge or certification, and a genuine commitment to safety, quality, and doing the right thing.
