Job summary

Hibiscus Care Dental invites a friendly Dental Assistant to join our Stanmore Bay practice part-time. You’ll support clinicians chairside across implants, orthodontics, and sedation, and help maintain a calm, welcoming patient experience.

We value compassionate team players who communicate well, stay organised, and adapt to a busy clinic. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa and vaccination per MOH guidelines required; training provided for right candidate.

Qualifications

• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
• Fully vaccinated in accordance with Ministry of Health and DCNZ guidelines.
• Experience is preferred but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Fluent spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists chairside across treatments including implants, orthodontics, and sedation.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to support clinicians.
• Follow infection control, sterilisation, and clinical safety protocols.
• Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
• Keep the clinical environment safe, clean, and organised.
• Assist reception during busy periods when needed.

Dental Assistant – Part-Time

About the Role

Hours:

• Wed–Fri, 2:00 PM–5:30 PM

• Additional Casual Hours

Start Date: Immediate start

Location: Hibiscus Care Dental, 674 Whangaparaoa Road, Stanmore Bay, Auckland

Key Responsibilities

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting our clinicians and creating a smooth, comfortable experience for every patient. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our dentists chairside across a range of treatments, including implants, orthodontics, and sedation

• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure clinicians are fully supported

• Following strict infection control, sterilisation, and clinical safety protocols

• Managing, monitoring, and maintaining clinical supplies and equipment

• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised clinical environment

• Supporting the reception team during busy periods when additional assistance is required

• A positive and reliable team player who works well alongside clinicians and the wider team

• An excellent communicator with fluent spoken English

• Organised and confident with computers and clinical systems
