Job summary

KPMG New Zealand is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex business and technology initiatives from initiation through delivery. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, risks and milestones, and ensure benefits realisation aligned with strategy.

You will partner with sponsors and senior stakeholders, apply governance and delivery assurance, and thrive in a dynamic, hybrid-work environment across Auckland offices and client sites.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of project management experience.
• Experience delivering complex technology initiatives.
• Strong planning, governance, financial management, reporting and delivery assurance.
• Anticipating and managing risks, issues, dependencies, priorities and constraints.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with senior stakeholders and vendors.
• Proven leadership, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Experience in Agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
• PRINCE2 or PMP certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation and planning through to design, delivery, and closure.
• Define scope, objectives, delivery approach, plans, milestones, resourcing and success measures.
• Establish governance, reporting, decision-making and change control throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors and delivery partners to maintain momentum.
• Manage budgets, schedules, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and quality.
• Communicate progress, risks and financial performance to stakeholders.
• Partner with sponsors and business owners to support business cases and adoption.
• Promote continuous improvement in project delivery practices.
