Job summary

CAE is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to deliver high-impact training for Defence and Security across Australia and beyond. You will collaborate with SMEs, multimedia specialists, software developers, and training professionals to design engaging learning content that supports critical defence capability.

Location is Homebush, NSW with hybrid options; you will lead development across projects, ensure quality, manage schedules, report progress, and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122).
• Undergraduate qualification in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or related discipline.
• Experience in instructional design, eLearning, or computer-based training development.
• Strong written communication, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capability.
• Australian Citizenship and NV1 Defence Security Clearance eligibility.
• Ability to work from Homebush, NSW site in on-site or hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate training development activities across multiple projects.
• Review and quality assure training content to ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with SMEs and development teams to create engaging learning solutions.
• Monitor project schedules, manage priorities, and identify risks to delivery.
• Provide project progress updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design, writing, and media standards.
