Job summary

Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is seeking an experienced primary-trained teacher to join our Christchurch provisions. Based at Hillmorton High School, you will support Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners across our Christchurch provisions, with regular travel between sites requiring a full NZ driver’s licence.

We are looking for a NZ registered teacher with at least 5 years of experience in primary/intermediate settings, strong knowledge of the NZ Curriculum, and a commitment to inclusive

Qualifications

• New Zealand registered teacher with current practising certificate.
• Experience teaching primary and/or intermediate learners.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum.
• Experience differentiating learning programmes for Year 1–Year 13.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A full New Zealand driver’s licence.
• NZSL proficiency or commitment to learning NZSL.

Responsibilities

• Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners across Christchurch provisions.
• Collaborate with the team to implement evidence-informed practice.
• Build positive relationships with students and whānau.
• Travel regularly between sites as required.
