Job summary

Ko Taku Reo seeks an experienced New Zealand registered classroom teacher for a permanent, full-time role at Kelston Primary Provision. The position offers small class sizes and supports NZSL learning with full resources and a collaborative Deaf education team.

The successful applicant will apply up-to-date NZ curriculum knowledge to raise ākonga achievement, work with Teachers and Teacher Aides of the Deaf, and may be eligible for a MoE Study Award for a Post Graduate Teacher of the Deaf

Qualifications

• Must hold NZ teacher registration and be familiar with the NZ curriculum and assessment tools.
• Experience in Deaf education or sign language integration is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a small-class, team-teaching environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach small classes (2–8 students) with NZSL support.
• Collaborate with Deaf education teachers and aides and other specialists.
• Raise achievement of ākonga through up-to-date curriculum delivery.
• Support Deaf culture awareness and MoE study opportunities.
