Job summary

Ko Taku Reo - Deaf Education New Zealand Auckland seeks a Teacher of the Deaf for Kelston Primary Provision in a permanent, full-time capacity. The role includes small class sizes (2–8 students) and a strong focus on NZSL and Deaf culture integration. A part-time option of 0.6 FTE may be considered for the right candidate.

You will work in a supportive team with Deaf Education specialists and will help lift ākonga achievement across years 1–8, while aligning with NZ curriculum requirements.

Qualifications

• Current NZ teaching registration and knowledge of the NZ curriculum and assessment tools.
• Experience or strong understanding of Deaf Education and NZSL.
• Permanent, full-time role with potential for 0.6 FTE part-time consideration for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to lifting student achievement and wellbeing of ākonga.
• Collaborate in a teaching team with Deaf Education staff and interpreters as required.
• Support learners with NZSL development and Deaf culture awareness.
