Job summary

ALH Auckland is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Lead to manage a small team of 4 storemen, oversee inbound and outbound operations, and ensure stock accuracy in a temp-to-perm role.

This position offers a clear pathway to permanency, Monday-to-Friday hours (7:30 AM - 5 PM), and on-site parking, with emphasis on accountability, strong customer communication, and efficient order processing.

Qualifications

• Previous team leadership experience within a warehouse, logistics or 3PL environment.
• Strong understanding of stock movements, inventory control and variance investigation.
• Full driver’s licence and ability to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 4 Storemen across daily warehouse operations.
• Oversee inbound, outbound and truck loading activities, with targets on timescales.
• Process customer orders and perform regular cycle counts for stock accuracy.

Lead a close-knit warehouse team in a hands‑on leadership role. Manage daily inbound and outbound operations, keep stock movements accurate, and step into a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 4 Storemen across daily warehouse operations
• Oversee approximately 20% inbound, 70% outbound and 10% truck loading
• Pick and process customer orders and complete regular cycle counts
• Ensure outbound orders are turned around within 48 hours and inbound stock within 24 hours
• Investigate stock variances and understand stock movements from start to finish
• Set clear expectations, delegate tasks and follow up to ensure work is completed
• Communicate directly with customers and internal teams via phone and email
• Operate forklifts as required across the warehouse
• Support the team on the floor while maintaining strong leadership and accountability

What We're Looking For

• Previous team leadership experience within a warehouse, logistics or ideally 3PL environment
• Strong understanding of stock movements, inventory control and variance investigation
• Must have experience operating Counterbalance, Reach and Stock Picker/Man Up
• Expired forklift licences are okay if you're willing to refresh
• A confident leader who is firm but fair and won't be afraid to hold the team accountable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable communicating with customers as well as internal teamsGood computer skills with Excel, Word and Outlook preferred
• Full driver's licence

What's On Offer

• $80,000 - $90,000 ($38 - $40 p/h), temp-to-perm opportunity
• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5 PM

Requirements

• Full driver's licence
• Counterbalance, Reach and Stock Picker/Man Up experience
