Job summary

Griffin’s Snacks in Papakura, Auckland, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer – Day Shift to keep our busy FMCG plant running smoothly. This hands-on, fast-paced role runs Monday to Friday 7.55am to 4.25pm and reports to Engineering Team Lead.

You’ll apply your trade cert and 10+ years of manufacturing experience to plan and execute PMs, diagnose breakdowns, install/repair mechanical systems, and support Lean projects while promoting health and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in fitting/turning or maintenance & diagnostics is required.
• 10+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing operation (food production preferred).
• Proven experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work unsupervised.
• Commitment to health and safety and best-practice in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and implement productivity initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OE.
• Ensure planned preventative maintenance and system checks are completed on schedule.
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns.
• Perform mechanical installations and repairs; maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and steam systems.
• Machining, welding and fabrication as needed.
