Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Databricks Data Consultant for an initial 3-month contract engagement. You will design and deliver scalable data solutions using Databricks across cloud platforms.

You will work with customer data and analytics projects, translating requirements into practical technical solutions and building production data pipelines with Spark, DBT/Coalesce, in Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Databricks experience.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks architecture and implementation.
• Experience with DBT and/or Coalesce.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Java, or C#.
• Experience with Apache Spark and SQL databases (SQL Server or Redshift).
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience building production data pipelines.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, streaming, data modelling, DataOps.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable data solutions using Databricks.
• Build and operationalise reliable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Integrate and transform structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop data platforms, data lakes, and distributed data solutions.
• Build and optimise solutions using Apache Spark.
• Work across cloud data environments including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Improve data reliability, performance, efficiency, and quality.
