Job summary

Datacom in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Databricks Data Consultant for an initial 3-month contract. You will design and deliver scalable data solutions using Databricks across cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and build reliable data pipelines for diverse data sources.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience, strong programming skills (Python/Scala/Java/C#), and a solid consulting mindset to translate requirements into tangible technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Databricks experience.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks architecture and implementation.
• Experience with DBT and/or Coalesce.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, streaming, data modelling or DataOps will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable data solutions using Databricks.
• Build and operationalise reliable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Integrate and transform structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop data platforms, data lakes, and distributed data solutions.
• Build and optimise solutions using Apache Spark.
• Work across cloud data environments including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Improve data reliability, performance, efficiency, and quality.
