Tribe Recruitment – Auckland, North Island is seeking a senior, hands-on data platform leader to deliver modern data platforms and analytics for enterprise clients. You will lead delivery, shape solutions, and partner with stakeholders from discovery to production-ready data products.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and consulting, building robust Databricks platforms and uplifting patterns and tooling for tangible client value.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on leader responsible for delivering data platform and analytics engagements.
• Ability to translate business problems into pragmatic technical approaches and delivery plans.
• Coaching team members and contributing to proposals and shaping opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data platform and analytics engagements (discovery → design → build → uplift → handover).
• Design and build Databricks solutions (lakehouse patterns, medallion architecture).
• Develop high-quality pipelines using PySpark/SQL with focus on performance and reliability.
• Implement CI/CD, testing, observability, and secure-by-design delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate problems into technical delivery plans.
• Coach team members and support capability uplift.
• Contribute to proposals, estimates, and future opportunities.
