Job summary

Fulton Hogan is hiring a Databricks Engineer to join our Group IT Data & AI team in Auckland or Christchurch. You will shape data pipelines, semantic models, and analytics solutions that support better decision making while learning from a pragmatic, down-to-earth team.

Responsibilities include building semantic layers and ELT pipelines on cloud platforms (Azure Databricks) using Python or SQL, collaborating across projects, and contributing to the full development lifecycle with a focus on

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' relevant post-tertiary industry experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks.
• Strong Python or SQL capability, with experience developing ELT pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD, GIT, Azure DevOps, and documentation tools such as Confluence.
• A collaborative, proactive approach, with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve semantic layers and data models that support reporting and analytics outcomes.
• Develop ELT pipelines using cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks, with Python or SQL.
• Work across a variety of projects and support production fixes when needed.
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle, following team standards and best practice.
• Put safety, quality, and continuous improvement front and centre in the way you work.
