The Ministry of Justice in Wellington is seeking an Analyst (Level 1) to turn data into compelling insights for decision making across Sector Insights. You will support mandatory information requests and provide ad-hoc data analyses to inform justice sector leaders and initiatives.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate findings into clear narratives, and build quality data assets to support legislation and priorities. A proactive, curious mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in a relevant field.
• Experience using analytical software such as SAS or Excel.
• Ability to translate findings into a compelling narrative for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of mandatory obligations (Official Information Act requests & Parliamentary Questions) and ad-hoc data requests that inform decision-making.
• Contribute to providing detailed quality data and insights to other teams within Sector Insights and tying into government processes.
• Inform key ministry initiatives delivering on priorities, including potential legislation changes.
