Job summary

MBIE is seeking a data and research analyst or a senior data and research analyst in Wellington Central. You will develop tools and reports, delivering clear data-driven messages to support science investment decisions. The role emphasizes data integrity and credible stakeholder collaboration.

Strong analytical skills and experience with Excel, SQL, and Power BI are required, along with excellent communications and the ability to translate data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
• Experience using Excel, SQL, Power BI to manage, summarise, interpret and present data.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred.
