Job summary

TSB New Zealand is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. You will design, build and support data solutions enabling reliable analytics and reporting while improving data quality, security and consistency.

You’ll work on ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and data marts, collaborating with the Data Platform team to raise standards and practices across data engineering. Strong SQL, Python, and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, with Python.
• 3 years of Databricks experience.
• Strong SQL skills and advanced SQL knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with ETL or data-flow tooling.
• DevOps experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build complex data solutions including ETL pipelines, data warehouses and data marts.
• Support data modelling at conceptual, logical and physical levels.
• Collaborate with the Data Platform team to improve standards and practices.
• Improve data access controls, coding practices, deployment approaches and automated testing.
• Monitor and maintain data platforms, environments and data loads to ensure reliability.
• Investigate incidents and resolve technical issues with the Tech Services team.
• Contribute to technical planning and ongoing improvement of the Bank’s technology services.
