Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract to deliver integrated marketing activities that engage Aucklanders and support key organisational priorities.

You’ll work with a busy team to develop campaigns, use data and insights to optimise performance, and build capability in data-driven marketing across the wider team. The role emphasises collaboration with internal stakeholders and diverse communities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a marketing, campaign management or communications role.
• Strong understanding of integrated marketing principles and campaign delivery.
• Experience using marketing data, customer insights or performance reporting to support decision making and continuous improvement.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Excellent planning, organisational and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders, agencies and subject matter experts to deliver impactful marketing initiatives.
• Take briefs for marketing campaigns and manage the asset production process.
• Use customer insights, audience data and campaign results to inform marketing decisions and optimise performance.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on campaign effectiveness, identifying opportunities to improve outcomes and value.
• Help build best-practice capability in data-driven marketing across the wider team.
