Qualifications

• Applicants must be reliable and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around livestock.
• Able to undertake physical duties required by the role.
• Available for early morning, weekend and public holiday work as rostered.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Consent to a Ministry of Justice criminal record check.
• Consent to employer obtaining ACC claims history for assessment of physical requirements.
• Provide a current CV.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with feeding stock and setting up break fences.
• Assisting with milking and maintaining dairy hygiene.
• Cleaning the dairy shed, yards, plant and equipment.
• Observing livestock and reporting health concerns.
• Assisting with calving, calf rearing, mating and other seasonal work.
• Pasture maintenance, weed control, fertiliser application and irrigation.
• Assisting with the farm effluent system.
• Completing basic farm and livestock records.
• Assisting with fencing, repairs and general farm maintenance.
• Complying with health and safety, animal welfare and environmental requirements.
