Qualifications

• Reliable and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around livestock.
• Able to undertake the physical duties required.
• Available for early mornings, weekends and public holidays as rostered.
• Follow instructions and work safely.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Consent to a Ministry of Justice criminal record check.
• Consent to ACC claims history for assessment.
• Provide a current CV.

Responsibilities

• Assist with feeding stock and setting up break fences.
• Assist with milking and maintaining dairy hygiene.
• Clean the dairy shed, yards, plant and equipment.
• Observe livestock and report animal health concerns.
• Assist with calving, calf rearing, mating and seasonal work.
• Assist with pasture maintenance, weed control, fertiliser application and irrigation.
• Assist with the farm effluent system.
• Complete basic farm and livestock records as instructed.
• Assist with fencing, repairs and general farm maintenance.
• Comply with health and safety, animal welfare and environmental requirements.
