Job summary

Downer in Waihou, New Zealand, is seeking a Cyclic Lead to head a dedicated crew and oversee road maintenance for a major infrastructure business. You will patrol designated roads, identify faults, and coordinate safe worksites while ensuring efficient use of materials.

This full-time, permanent role offers hands-on leadership, on-call duties, and opportunities to train staff and develop skills in RAMM / AWM data entry. A Class 2 NZ driver licence and traffic management experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Driver Licence is required.
• Traffic Management Qualification or experience is beneficial.
• Experience leading and supervising crews.
• Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
• Good initiative, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to perform on-call duties for emergency responses.
• Experience recording activities on RAMM / AWM systems.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa

As a Cyclic Lead for one of the largest infrastructure business' in New Zealand, you will lead and manage a cyclic crew as well as supporting other operations to ensure the delivery of a high-quality roading network. This is a full time, permanent role based in Waihou. You will also:

• Patrol designated roads on a regular basis
• Identify and repair faults, such as potholes, edge marker post replacement and blocked drainage structures
• Risk assess and setup safe sites for your crew and the general public
• Provide training and development for staff
• Ensure efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment
• Work as part of a cohesive team to deliver road maintenance activities

• Full Class 2 New Zealand Drivers Licence required

• Show good initiative and be confident in decision-making and problem-solving
• Ability to perform on-call duties as part of our emergency response requirements
• Ability to record completed activities on an electronic device (RAMM / AWM)
