Job summary

Tasman District Council in Richmond, New Zealand, seeks a senior cybersecurity leader to drive our digital security programme, strengthen risk management and influence secure technology and AI adoption.

You will provide expert guidance to senior leaders, embed secure-by-design practices across projects, cloud platforms and infrastructure, and translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in cybersecurity or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to translate complex cybersecurity concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience influencing senior leadership and governance bodies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cybersecurity programme and governance for the Council.
• Embed secure-by-design principles across projects, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Advise senior leaders on risk, compliance and technology strategy.
• Coordinate incident response and security assurance activities.
