Based at our Onehunga branch, this is a varied, customer-facing role that combines customer service, trade counter sales, internal sales, and administration.
As the face of our branch, you'll build strong relationships with customers, manage enquiries and orders, and proactively support sales growth through regular customer contact and follow-up. You'll work closely with Account Managers, the Warehouse team, suppliers, and other departments to ensure customers receive outstanding service and timely solutions.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Manage the trade counter and provide exceptional service to customers in person, by phone, and via email.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using Microsoft Business Central.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.
Develop and maintain relationships with an allocated portfolio of customers through regular outbound contact.
Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and services.
Follow up quotations and sales opportunities to help convert them into orders.
Maintain strong product knowledge and identify cross-selling opportunities.
Process customer credits, supplier returns, and consignment stock orders when required.
Resolve customer issues efficiently, escalating where necessary and keeping customers informed.
Support sales and marketing activities, customer communications, and branch initiatives.
Work closely with Account Managers, Warehouse staff, suppliers, and colleagues to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
Maintain accurate customer and order information within company systems.
Ensure the showroom and trade counter are clean, tidy, organised, and well-stocked.
Assist with warehouse and stock control activities as required.
Support general administration tasks, including cash handling and banking.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support other teams when needed.

You will ideally have:
Previous customer service experience (essential).
Sales support, trade counter, or internal sales experience (preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A warm, friendly, and professional manner.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
Confidence building relationships with customers and identifying sales opportunities.
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
The ability to lift and move cartons or stock when required.
